Sneak Peak :: Marisa & Daniel 08.28.10

On Saturday we had the pleasure of working with an amazing team of vendors for Marisa & Daniel's gorgeous outdoor wedding. Marisa opted for an eco-friendly chic wedding with a touch of Southern charm. Key design elements of Marisa's decor included mason jars, burlap, moss, wild flowers, and window panes.

Lots more photos to come, but for now, here's a sneak peak of their adorable details.

Kid-Friendly Activity Station

If you're planning to invite children to your wedding, you may consider putting together a kid-friendly activity station like the one pictured above. Laura, our July 17th bride, created this fun activity station using items from the Dollar Store. My favorite element is the adorable candy centerpiece she made from lolly pops and jelly beans - this was a HUGE hit with the little ones at the reception! Other items she included were coloring books, crayons, a mini curling board game, glow sticks, and even fun party straws. The activity table certainly did not disappoint, and kept the under 10 crowd busy all night!

{tip: use a Styrofoam ball for the top half of the centerpiece & completely cover with lolly pops}

Top 10 Reasons to Hire Simply Perfect Weddings

We’ve all heard the standard reasons of why you should hire a wedding planner (they will save you money, they have connections, etc...), but more importantly, why should you hire us? That’s the real question you should be asking yourself. Every wedding planner is different, and it’s so important that you connect with him/her. With that said, here are the top 10 reasons why we think you should hire Simply Perfect Weddings:

10. Weddings are our full time job. This isn’t a “hobby” for us.

9. We love hearing about your non-wedding planning life. “Friend” us on Facebook and “Follow” us on Twitter.

8. We love it even more when you stay in touch after the wedding. We love getting baby announcements ; )

7. We love when you send us your save-the-dates and wedding invitations. We will keep them forever. I promise.

6. Not sure who will set up your favors, menu cards, place cards, cardbox, guestbook, and 100+ other décor items on the day of your wedding exactly to your specifications? Yeah, we got that covered for you.

5. Like feeling that you always have a “go to” person when wedding questions arise? Consider us your wedding encyclopedia.

4. Because you don’t want someone to hand you a checklist and walk away. Say hello to your new BFF. We’re here for you every step of the way.

3. Because you don’t want a cookie cutter wedding. Good news, we like unique weddings. Correction, we LOVE unique weddings!

2. We love spreadsheets. Seriously.

1. You deserve it! You deserve to be a GUEST at your own wedding. Relax, and leave the details to us.

Boudoir Photography

If you're getting married, you may have already seen this specialized photography service being offered by your wedding photographer. As a wedding planner, I get a lot of questions about this "mysterious" photography service that everyone is talking about; therefore, I wanted to share a new website that explains it all...Wink Boudoir by Leeann Marie Photography. Leeann is a Pittsburgh-based wedding photographer who you may have already seen on our blog before. Leeann has been offering boudoir photography for quite awhile now, but recently started a new site dedicated solely for boudoir clients.

So, what exactly is boudoir photography?! For starters, if you are unfamiliar with boudoir photography, click here and here first. Boudoir can make a great gift for your soon-to-be husband, or better yet, surprise your hubby with these photos after the honeymoon!

Now that you have a better idea of what boudoir actually is, I'm curious to know your thoughts...will you be scheduling a boudoir session? Or, if you've already had a session, what was your experience like - would you recommend it to other brides-to-be?
